How big is the Alpaca?

The Alpaca is 2.4 x 3m externally, wall to wall. Every size is priced on this page, including VAT and free UK mainland delivery.

What is the Alpaca made of?

19mm cladding, pressure treated, apex roof. Pressure treated timber resists rot and decay from the day it arrives, and we recommend treating it within 4 weeks, two to three coats the first time, then at least once a year after that.

Do I need planning permission for the Alpaca?

Usually not. Garden structures normally fall under permitted development if they sit behind the front of the house, cover less than half the garden and stay under 2.5m tall within 2m of a boundary. Conservation areas and listed buildings are the usual exceptions, so check with your local planning authority if you are unsure.

What base does the Alpaca need?

A level, solid base slightly larger than the footprint: concrete, paving slabs or a timber frame on ground screws all work. We partner with Sussex Concrete Bases if you need one laid: mention Garden Rooms for Sale when you book.

Do you install the Alpaca?

Yes. Our recommended team installs, priced by size from £1,000 to £1,950 within 50 miles of our showroom in Cowfold, near Horsham. Further afield we can often still install, priced per job, so ask us for a quote. Installation is invoiced separately and paid on completion. It also comes as a complete kit with instructions if you would rather build it yourself.

How long does delivery take, and do you deliver to Scotland?

Lead time is typically 2 to 4 weeks from order. Delivery is free to every UK mainland address including Scotland, with no minimum spend. Islands and Northern Ireland are quoted separately.

What guarantee comes with the Alpaca?

Our timber guarantees run up to 10 years on tongue and groove buildings and log cabins, and up to 15 years on pressure treated buildings, provided it is treated and maintained as set out in our returns and warranty policy.

Can I see the Alpaca before I buy?

We have buildings at our showroom at Camelia Botnar Garden Centre in Cowfold, near Horsham that you can walk into, and we can take you through the rest of the range while you are there. Open 7 days a week, no appointment needed.

A proper apex shed for the tools, the mower and everything else that should not be living in the house. Neat enough to sit in view of the kitchen window rather than hidden behind the hedge.

19mm cladding, thicker than most garden sheds use, so the walls stay solid and do not flex when you lean a ladder against them. Pressure treated from the day it arrives.
