Built to be worked in, not sat in once a summer
A summerhouse is a single skin of timber and it shows the first cold morning you try to take a call in one. The Paradise is built the way a house wall is built, which is the whole reason it works as an office.
Insulated all the way round
A 140mm roof at 0.17 W/m²K, a 40mm floor on pressure treated bearers and insulated walls. The optional extra wall insulation takes the walls from 0.72 to 0.40 W/m²K.
Double glazed as standard
24mm double glazing in every window and door, 28mm on the Composite and Pressure Treated. Nothing to add on, and no single-glazed version to be upsold from.
A room, not a shed
The interior arrives with a plasterboard-style Fermacell finish, ready to paint. Put a skirting board on and it reads like the spare room.
Locks like a front door
A multipoint locking system on the doors, which matters once there is a laptop and a monitor living out there.
Rooms we have put in
Our own photographs, taken on site. Every one of these is an insulated or composite-clad garden room, the same family of building as the Paradise.
More of them in the full showcase.
Start from what has to fit in it
Sizes are the outside measurement, the way the trade quotes them, so the usable room inside is a little smaller. Prices are for the standard Paradise, including VAT and free UK mainland delivery.

Questions people ask before ordering one
Can I actually work in it in winter?
That is what it is built for. The walls, roof and floor are all insulated and double glazing is standard, not an upgrade: a 140mm roof at 0.17 W/m²K, a 40mm floor on pressure treated bearers, and 24mm double glazing in every window and door, or 28mm on the Composite and Pressure Treated. Most people find a small electric heater is plenty once the door has been shut for ten minutes.
Does it feel like a shed inside?
No, and this is the part people notice at the showroom. The interior arrives with a plasterboard-style Fermacell finish, ready for you to paint, so it reads as a room in the house rather than bare timber. Add vinyl flooring from us at £25 per square metre, or lay your own.
Do I need planning permission for a garden office?
In most gardens, no. Garden buildings normally fall under permitted development if they sit behind the front of the house, take up less than half the garden and stay under the height limits, which is 2.5m within 2m of a boundary. The Paradise ridge is 2.48m and the Composite 2.46m, both deliberately under that line. Check with your local authority for anything large or close to the house.
Is there power in it?
Not as part of the kit. Almost everyone has an electrician run an armoured cable from the house once the building is up, which is a straightforward job on a room this size. If you would rather it arrived wired and plastered, that is a bespoke build and we are happy to price one.
What base does it need?
A level, solid base slightly larger than the footprint. Concrete, paving slabs or a timber frame on ground screws all work. We partner with Sussex Concrete Bases: mention Garden Rooms for Sale when you book and they will look after you on price.
What does installation cost, and when do I pay it?
Our recommended team installs, priced by building size from £1,000 to £1,950 within 50 miles of our showroom in Cowfold, near Horsham. Further afield we often still install, priced per job: tell us your postcode and we will confirm. Installation is invoiced separately and paid on completion.
How long from ordering to working in it?
Typically 4 to 6 weeks. We confirm an estimated delivery date when you order and ring the week before to fix it. Delivery is free to every UK mainland address including Scotland, with no minimum spend.
Which one should I choose?
Same building, different outsides. The Paradise is timber you paint and re-coat each year and is the cheapest way in. The Pressure Treated has preservative driven right through the wood, so it resists rot from the day it arrives. The Composite is clad in boards that never need treating or painting at all: most money up front, almost none after. The Reverse is the Paradise turned end-on, for a narrow garden.
Can I see one before I buy?
There are buildings at our showroom at Camelia Botnar Garden Centre in Cowfold, near Horsham that you can walk into, open 7 days a week. We can go through sizes and prices while you are there.
